Now that you've put your home on the market, it's time for the showings to begin. There are several things to consider before your home is shown. First impressions are sometimes a make-it or break-it deal and if you can impress a potential buyer, then it's well worth the effort.

  • Are there any leaks? If so, repair immediately and correct signs of leaks.
  • Is your home clean? Do you have clutter, spider webs, or dust accumulation? Then now is the time to spring clean.
  • Do you need a fresh coat of paint or touchup?
  • Have the A/C system cleaned and serviced, incuding a filter change.
  • Replace all burned out light bulbs.
  • Ensure clear access to electrical panels and outlets.
  • Ensure clear access to water heater, A/C system, and attic.
  • Have the A/C system on at all times even if the house is vacant. This will keep the humidity at an acceptable level.
  • If your home is vacant, please ensure that all major appliances are in working order and leave the refrigerator on.
  • Powerwash your home, if needed.
  • DECLUTTER
  • Showing tips: Keep blinds open, declutter tables and closets, ensure toilet seats are down and personal bathroom items stowed. Clear magnets, artwork, and notes from the front of refrigerator. Keep landscaping looking fresh.

These are just a few points to take into consideration when getting ready to start the showing process. Remember, first impressions are very important to the potential home buyer. Now, let's sell your house!
